About This Spot

Stepping into Pedaler on the Port is like finding a quiet pause in the rhythm of the marina’s lively surroundings. Nestled within the historic walls of the old Lifeboat house, this coffee shop invites you to slow down and savor the gentle hum of life by the water. Whether you choose a seat indoors or settle at the outdoor tables overlooking the port, there’s a welcoming calmness that encourages soft conversations and moments spent watching the world drift by.

The pace here is unhurried, perfectly suited to early mornings that stretch into midday. The scent of carefully brewed coffee blends effortlessly with the fresh sea air, creating a comforting backdrop to your visit. It’s the kind of place where familiar faces greet you with warmth, and staff seem genuinely pleased to share a part of your day — their attentiveness quiet but sincere, making each visit feel personal.

Food and drink at Pedaler on the Port are woven into the overall experience rather than the main event. The menu reflects a thoughtful approach to simple, honest fare designed to complement the setting. Whether it’s a rich, velvety hot chocolate or a hearty breakfast enjoyed after a waterfront stroll, every bite and sip feels like an invitation to pause. The homemade sweet treats, especially a buttery shortbread, add a gentle indulgence that fits effortlessly with the relaxed mood.

Here, the atmosphere embraces the ebb and flow of the port life — a blend of casual gatherings and quiet moments of solitude alike. The use of natural materials and touches of rustic charm echo the building’s maritime heritage, adding layers to the sense of place. While seating options lean toward elevated choices that might not suit all, the overall environment encourages lingering, conversation, and connection.

Ultimately, Pedaler on the Port is a thoughtful refuge within Dover’s marina, where quality, character, and a sincere welcome come together. It’s a spot to return to — whether to start your day, share time with friends, or simply watch the ever-changing light on the water.

Such lovely coffee and service. This place is lovely to stop and grab a coffee and stop for a chat with friends or perfect to watch the world go by. Seating inside and out . Well worth another visit

I have visited a few times and every single time I have been served with a smile. The staff working here are super welcoming and lovely. The white hot chocolate is my favourite and I had their big breakfast for the first time yesterday and it was delicious. Their home made sweet treats are also delightful too especially the shortbread. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is visiting Dover. It’s a great spot by the sea on the beautiful marina!

Just had coffee, all day breakfast and some take away food from here after a walk around the Marina. Food is very good, brilliant coffee, and great location. Why I didn't gave it a 5*? I didn't get the idea of disposable wooden plates and cutleries, difficult to cut up my food, surely washable plates and cutleries are more environment friendly. Also the seating is uncomfortable, elevated bar stool and tables. They are great just for drinking coffee but maybe a few standard tables and chairs for those having a meal.

Excellent quality food and coffee. Perhaps understandably therefore it is expensive! We arrived at 1255 which was lucky because they stopped serving food at 1300, which seems early (closes at 3pm). Edit: 2pm in the “winter”! Great location in the port area, and utilising an old dock building (actually the old Lifeboat house 1866).

Having our breakfast here as we speak. It's raining outside, but having breakfast at The Pedaler on the Port more than makes up for it The staff are friendly and helpful, the vegan granola is the best ever , the restaurant is spotless and the location is great! Highly recommended!

My wife and I have been to Dover several times but not been quite lucky enough to catch this place open… until today! They have a great little selection of food and beverages. The eatery is very cozy with great views inside and out! And the food is FANTASTIC. I always get a large cappo for breakfast wherever I go. The cappo here… Georgie runs a great little place. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a cuppa and a bite. You won’t regret it for a second! Thanks for a wonderful breakfast gang!
